The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) program in partnership with the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) is introducing a series of FREE web-based seminars (Webinars) to provide information on a wide variety of topics for MRC leaders, volunteers, and others interested in the MRC. These Webinars will be live and interactive between the presenter and the audience.
Self-Evaluation: Getting the Most out of Your Program (May 1, 2007) This 60-minute session will serve as an introduction to program self-evaluation and how this concept can be used to help MRC units meet their objectives.
MRC TRAIN: The Basics (June 26, 2007) This 60-minute presentation will provide an overview of the TRAIN site, the importance of the MRC to the TRAIN affiliate network, and how individuals can create an account to begin learning through TRAIN.
Psychological First Aid: The Role of MRC Volunteers in Disaster Response (September 11, 2007) This presentation will provide an overview of Disaster Mental Health, the role of Psychological First Aid (PFA) and how it evolved.
Leveraging Partnerships Panel (October 2, 2007) Given the MRC’s supplementary role, coordination with local response partners is essential. Remember that this method of coordination may vary due to differing local conditions. The manner in which you structure your MRC unit may change as lessons are learned and as you become adept at expanding and nurturing your broad network of partners. This session will discuss the lessons-learned from three local MRC units who have had overcome initial challenges to have successful partnerships in their community.
